GameBid buyer protection
Buy from other gamers with confidence. Stripe holds the payment until the order is complete, which is when you confirm you've received it or it's confirmed automatically. If your item doesn't arrive, or it isn't what the listing said, you get your money back when your claim is accepted.
Step 1
You pay through GameBid’s checkout, not the seller directly
Card payments go through Stripe. The seller never sees your card details, and your payment is held by Stripe until the order is complete.
Step 2
The seller posts within 5 days of payment
Most sellers add tracking. If nothing is posted in time, you can ask for your money back.
Step 3
You confirm it arrived
Once you confirm delivery, the seller is paid 2 days later. If you forget, the order confirms itself (see below), unless you've opened a case.
Step 4
Something wrong? Open a case
Our team reviews every case, looks at tracking and messages, and refunds you if the claim is upheld.
You're covered if…
- Your item never arrives (you can report it 7 days after it was shipped).
- The seller doesn't post within 5 days of payment (weekends and bank holidays count).
- It's significantly not as described: wrong game, wrong platform or region, fake, damaged or missing parts that weren't disclosed.
Good to know
- Report a problem within 7 days of tracked delivery, or within 2 days of confirming. The seller isn't paid until then.
- If tracking shows it was delivered, a “never arrived” claim can't be accepted.
- Pay only through GameBid. Deals done off the site (bank transfer, PayPal friends & family) aren't protected.
- If you don't confirm, the order confirms itself 7 days after tracked delivery (or 14 days after tracked dispatch). The seller is paid 2 days after any confirmation, unless a case is open.
Trust signals to look for
- ✓ Verified: the seller's identity and payouts are verified by Stripe and they've completed at least 3 sales.
- ★ Ratings: buyers can only review a seller after a completed order, one review per order.
- Real photos: every listing must include at least one photo of the actual item.
To open a case, go to your profile → Purchases and choose “Open dispute” on the order. Read our safety tips and terms for full details.
