GameBid waitlist referral rules

1. Who runs it

The GameBid waitlist referral scheme ("the scheme") is run by GameBid Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17497897), 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA (for correspondence only). Questions: support@gamebid.co.uk.

2. Who can take part

You can take part if you're 18 or over, live in the UK and have joined the GameBid beta waitlist. The friends you refer must meet the same conditions. One waitlist entry per person.

3. How it works

1. Join the waitlist and confirm your email address. You'll get your own invite link on your waitlist status page.
2. Share your link however you like, for example on your own social media. Please only share it with people who'd want it, and don't post it where it isn't allowed. We never contact your friends for you.
3. A referral counts once your friend joins the waitlist using your link and confirms their email address. They must be new to the waitlist, use their own permanent email address, and not be you.

  1 confirmed referral: Move up the queue: you move ahead of everyone in the queue who hasn't referred anyone yet.

• 3

  3 confirmed referrals: Higher priority: you move ahead of everyone in the queue with fewer than 3 referrals.

• 10

  10 confirmed referrals: Founding recruiter: if you're approved for the beta, a Founding recruiter badge on your profile and 1 extra month of 0% GameBid fee.

• Your place in the queue: the queue puts people with more confirmed referrals first, then earlier sign-ups first. Others can move ahead of you if they refer more people. Each day we let a limited number of people in automatically, in queue order, once they've confirmed their email and ticked the 18+/UK box. We approve other places by hand, including sign-ups held for review, and we may invite people out of queue order (for example independent shops). A higher place isn't a guaranteed invite or date.
• The extra 0% month: only applies if you're approved for the beta. If you reach 10 before your founding fee-free period ends, it's added to the end (so the period runs to 4 months from your approval). If you reach 10 after it has ended, it runs for 1 month from the day you reach 10. Card processing (1.5% + 20p per payment) and any Boost fees still apply. See our Terms §5.If the beta ends before you're approved, you'll still get the badge and the extra month if you join GameBid with the same email address within 12 months of GameBid opening to the public. The extra month then runs for 1 month from the day you join.
• The Founding recruiter badge only shows that you referred 10 or more people to the waitlist. It isn't a check of your identity, trustworthiness or selling record.
• You can get each reward once. Rewards have no cash value and can't be exchanged, transferred or sold. This isn't a prize draw: rewards depend only on how many confirmed referrals you have.

5. Fair play

Sign-ups that look automated, duplicated or made up (for example many sign-ups on one link in a short time, or email addresses very like yours) are held for review and may not count. Don't buy, swap or fake sign-ups, and don't spam people. We may remove referrals, and any rewards they earned, if they break these rules. If we've already added the extra month, we may remove any part you haven't used yet, but we won't charge GameBid fees again on sales you've already made. If you think we've made a mistake, email support@gamebid.co.uk and we'll look again.

6. When it ends

The scheme ends when GameBid opens to the public, or earlier if we give at least 7 days' notice on this page and by email to people on the waitlist. Referrals confirmed before it ends still count, and rewards you've already earned are kept (the extra 0% month still needs beta approval, or joining GameBid within 12 months of it opening to the public, as set out above).

7. Changes

We may change these rules for a good reason (for example to stop abuse, or to match a change in the law), with at least 7 days' notice on this page. Changes won't take away rewards you've already earned.

8. Your data

We record who referred whom, so we can count referrals. Referrers see only their own count, never their friends' names or emails. See our Privacy Policy for details.

These rules sit alongside the GameBid Terms of Service. If they conflict on the referral scheme, these rules apply.
