Banned & restricted items

Keep it genuine, legal and safe. Listings that break these rules are removed; repeat or serious breaks lead to a ban.

Not allowed

  • Fakes passed off as real

Counterfeit, bootleg or reproduction games, boxes, manuals or hardware sold as originals.

  • Piracy

Copied or burned discs, ROM collections, flash carts (EverDrive and similar), multi-game carts, modded carts, and consoles or devices loaded with games you don’t own.

  • Digital codes and accounts (for now)

Download codes, DLC or season-pass codes, gift cards, subscriptions and game accounts. Codes printed inside a sealed boxed game are fine.

  • Adult-only content

Sexually explicit games, films or material. We don’t run age checks, so we can’t allow it. Normal 18-rated games (PEGI 18 / BBFC 18) are allowed: you must be 18 to use GameBid.

  • Stolen goods

Anything you don’t own or can’t legally sell. We work with the police when asked.

  • Unsafe items

Recalled products, and anything with a swollen, leaking or damaged battery.

  • Illegal or dangerous items

Banned (refused-classification) titles, weapons, drugs and anything else illegal in the UK.

  • Things you don’t have

Pre-orders, drop-shipping, “mystery” listings and placeholder listings.

  • Non-gaming items

Anything not reasonably related to video games.

Allowed only if clearly described

  • Reproductions

Only if “Reproduction” is in the title and description and the item is clearly marked as one. Never in sealed or “original” listings.

  • Modded consoles

Only if the mod is described (e.g. region-free, HDMI, battery) and no games or ROMs are loaded.

  • Untested or for spares

Say so in the title and pick the lowest condition. Untested isn’t a defence for a broken item described as working.

  • Imports

State the region (PAL, NTSC-U, NTSC-J) so buyers know it may not play on UK consoles.

  • Consoles and handhelds

Factory reset them first: remove your accounts, cards and personal data.
